Helping people one basket at a time is a trend emerging into the design spotlight.
When we support the labor of weavers working individually or in small cooperatives in war-torn or underdeveloped countries, families and even entire communities can benefit. The income from these products offers hope of financial security that the people may not receive from government relief aid alone.

“When you think of a woman from Afghanistan, what is your image? Hidden by a burqa? Beaten by her husband? Hopelessness? Poverty? While this certainly is the case for many women in Afghanistan, there is another truth that is often invisible to us. Afghan women have cause to celebrate International Women’s Day, and they do so with courage and conviction amid the ongoing work of securing their human rights.”
