A Holiday Wish
Dear Friend,
All of us here at the Women’s Peace Collection want to wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season.
We thank you for your support and all the ways in which you have impacted the lives of the women we serve around the world this year. Through your purchases of the special gifts we offer on the Collection, a ripple of generosity has been felt around the world – touching the lives of talented and resilient women who live in challenging areas of the world, whether in refugee camps, remote villages or distant townships.
As I think back on this year, I am reminded of those poignant moments which touched the hearts of so many – the weavers in Darfur who danced around their makeshift tent when they discovered that their Peace Baskets were appreciated by American audiences, chanting “We are artists not just refugees!” The Afghan embroiderers whose spirit was lightened because they knew they were not forgotten nor invisible to the world through the sales of their beautiful Tashomar Bags. The customer who called to tell me that her sister was going through a painful divorce and she wanted to gift her the Necklace of Strength and the young man who gifted the Necklace of Caring to all his family and friends – because he was touched by its remarkable story.
We thank you for walking beside us this year – and look forward to enriching your lives in 2010 with special gifts from the Collection – each an emissary of peace, each a reflection of the hopes and dreams of women around the world.
In peace,
