ABOUT THE ARTISANS

This scarf was handmade in a fair trade cooperative in Nepal. Cashmere yarn production is a primary source of income in the Himalayas. It comes from the mountain goats, who roam feely and are treated care and respect.  Their fur is combed by hand and the yarn is then hand woven or knitted by talented artisans.  This age old tradition helps Himalayan families have a sustainable livelihood.
