These fun watermelon earrings are crafted from handmade wooden beads that are covered with recycled remnants of repurposed cotton saris and quilts.  The beads are made from repurposed wood from a local furniture company, making these a truly sustainable item.

Earrings measure approximately 2" long x 0.8" wide.

All of our products are shipped with cards containing information about fair trade and the corresponding artisan group.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

Our sari fabric jewelry collection is handmade in a fair trade women's cooperative in India. The artisans are paid excellent wages and have seen their standard of living greatly increase through fair trade practices.  In addition, Worldfinds, the company working with the women, has established the Girls Education Fund, which provides scholarships for marginalized girls to continue school.  In India it is estimated that 64% of adolescent girls are forced to leave school early to take care of younger siblings, help run the household or for arranged marriages.
