Monarch Butterfly Gourd Earrings, Colombia

These gorgeous earrings of the iconic Monarch butterfly are crafted from hand painted gourds. As Monarchs decline in numbers due largely to pesticide use, these earrings serve as reminders of our interdependence with nature and the need to steward the land back to radiant health.

Earrings measure approximately 0.8" from wing tip to wing tip.

All of our products are shipped with cards containing information about fair trade and the corresponding artisan group.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

These earrings were handcrafted by Indigenous Mokaná, Afro-Colombians, and mother heads of households in small workshops in Northern Colombia. They are very talented artists receiving living wages for their work while helping to sustain and revitalize indigenous knowledge and traditions.
