This stunning candleholder is made from recycled glass bottles by masters of the Phoenician glassblowing craft. The bottles are ground into pieces, melted at high temperatures, and mixed with various substances that produce unique color patterns in every piece. They're as much a work of art as they are functional candleholders, and thus they make great gifts for anyone. Comes with sand on the bottom.
Measures 3" wide x 4" tall (I would measure again to confirm the width especially)
Please Note: Each piece is similar but also unique, colors and patterns may vary from those shown in the photos.
All of our products are shipped with cards containing information about fair trade and the corresponding artisan group.
ABOUT THE ARTISANS
This candle holder was handmade in a fair trade cooperative in the West Bank city of Hebron, an area with a longstanding tradition of glass-blowing. The 60 plus artisans have the opportunity to work in workshops or at home, enabling them to take care of their children if needed. They earn an excellent income and work in safe conditions. They use recycled glass in all of their products. The artisans have year-round employment which has greatly improved their standard of living.
